This Marble and bronze floor mural, titled. "Three Ravens", was
installed in the vestibule of Alaska Mutual Bank, in Anchorage in
1982. In all four of the main eskimo tribes, the raven is a
universally good symbol, as it is thought to bring back the sun each
spring. The mural is divided into three ravens and has salmon eyes,
another univerally good symbol, in the upper corners. The bronze
rails act as reflective beams streaming from the sun at the
bottom. |
