Barry Rose has worked locally and nationally on a commissioned basis
to create site specific murals, bas relief and sculptures in an
architecturally integrated fashion. Most of these artworks are large
scale publicly placed pieces that adorn many of our landmark spaces
and buildings. He has worked in bronze and other metals, stone,
concrete and terra cotta; and enjoys both collaborative efforts and
supplying original design concepts.
Mr. Rose has restored many of the areas historic buildings through
the art of terra cotta architectural detailing. He has also been
active in community work, resulting in a large number of
participatory murals; and has created a number of artworks as a
major fundraising vehicle for philanthropic organizations. Rose has
been honored recently by The Mayor's Award For Excellence In The
Arts, and The Ann Love Award from Historic Denver, Inc. He has
taught special art classes at many American schools, colleges and
other institutions , and is currently teaching at the Art Students
League of Denver.
